1. Pleated Skirts

Regardless if you’re rocking it mini, midi, or full-length, pleated skirts will be finding their way into our wardrobes as many ways as they can this spring. The high slit and movement in Jacequemus’ design adds a feminine flare to a high fashion ensemble. The three buttons attached to the top give this piece a look of deconstructed tailoring as well, another trend this Spring and Summer will pick up on.

2. Deconstructed Tailoring

Wearing garments open, upside-down, and the wrong side up is becoming more and more popular as we bring our minds past winter into next spring. We have been seeing a lot of sweaters being worn wrapped and warped entirely of their shape, on top of unbutton bottoms leaving waistlines entirely bare. Who is down to show a little skin?

3. The Oversized Flip-Flop

A less intense version of the mega platform flip flop we saw a lot last summer brought its way onto the Jacquemus RTW for this Spring and Summer. We see this show bridging everyday and high-fashion in many of the looks, and this footwear choice is no exemption to that. Making the newest trends comfortable and practical is something 2020 started and 2021 will end.

4. Body Flossing

This criss-cross fabric effect that comes out time and time again on many Jacquemus runways is something we like to call body flossing. This trend is lingerie’s way of nodding its way into streetwear just like the corset has done, and gives a sexy silhouette to anyone wearing it.

5. Added Bra Cups

This trend was so sought after last year during the warmer months that people are still into it. But let’s face it… bra cup tops are pretty cool, so do we blame them? Taking a new spin on last runway’s slit-slip options, Jacquemus added cups to a slip dress this time not made of lingerie-esque fabric.

6. Oversized Trousers

Thrifting has become prevalent within our society and in some cases necessary to try to slow down the fashion cycle some bit. Oversized trousers are not only cool, but something that can be easily found in any men’s or women’s section of any thrift store out there. The beauty with these bottoms is they are quarantine’s way of welcoming your old work life back: a comfortable yet professional option. And get this… we think the baggier the better! I know, crazy right?!

7. Collars

The common misconception about adding a collar to an outfit is that it will have a preppy vibe. This season on the Jacequemus runway, he was here to prove you nay-sayers wrong! This clean, modern approach to fashion lended itself to having many looks end up with collars of different colors and lengths. Adding a collar to a comfortable outfit made out of breathable fabric is a great post-quanrentine choice because it bridges our old and new lives back again.

8. Cropped Blazers

Cropped blazers have been around all year, but we haven’t see a short-sleeve one yet! Wow, that’s exciting! Being at the forefront of this year’s trends was exactly what Jacquemus did by adding new and clever spins to classic pieces such as the blazer because it allowed them to really stand out and be seen. How many different ways could you see this trickling down? I can think of a couple!

9. Statement Sleeves

Fashion guru’s have been obsessing over the puff sleeve for a few years now, so why not make your fist appearance after self-isolating be a big one? Well… let’s just say we know most people won’t resort to this large of a statement sleeve, but we do think there will at least be a little puff on some of the sleeves we see on those brunch date Instagram posts.

10. Oversized Suiting

Every year many RTW designers and collections will offer at least one suiting option, and we see Jacquemus offering an all-black option with one button. Many retailers have already adopted this one-button look into their more relaxed tailored options. With the fabric and styling choices, designers are taking a more bohemian approach to suiting.
