Humble is Haute

Christian Dior Resort 2020/2021

Using fabrics to up the luxury of an understated and comfortable garment was what Chiuri aimed for in Dior’s 2020/2021 Resort collection. Between the hand woven patterns or delicately stitched appications, the humble shapes didn’t sell the looks short one bit. Sticking to simple and playing it up fits in perfectly with our “work from home” culture. Do you think this trend will trickle-down?

Print Mixing

Gucci Resort 2020/2021

If it was up to Alessandro Michele, everyone would be inspired by the 70’s and layering fabrics, shapes, and colors in ways that turn heads. Gucci’s 2020/2021 Resort collection played with print-mixing and acessory layering. Keeping with a vintage vibe, it encourages viewers to buy secondhand and work to slow the fashion cycle while shopping locally.

Lace, Embroidery, & Detail

Ermanno Scervino Resort 2020/2021

A bit of romance and sexy glamour was a glimmer of light during the current pandemic and darkness that surrounds designers current inspirations. Layering, application, and attention to detail is what sets this collection apart. A variety of neutral colors gave for a versatile color scheme that can be transitioned throughout seasons while adding a minimalistic touch. Oh and, the bandana is still here… we told you!

Effortless Sexy Chic

Chanel

Fall/ Winter 2020-2021

Looking ahead into Fall/Winter 2021, we see a lot of suiting-inspired looks with sexy, more feminine cuts and silhouettes being put out this season by Chanel’s design team. The show pushed hard and soft pairings, and added a contrast to their styling through minimal accessories and body-shaping pieces.

An Edgy, Boho, Retro Baby

Christian Dior Fall/ Winter 2020-2021

Mixing hard and soft is something the fashion industry likes to play with time and time again. Dior’s styling team added a 70’s vibe with some mix and match prints alongside edgier accessories like combat boots and fishnet tights. Let’s not forget this season’s hottest accessory: the bandana.

Mis-Matched Accessories

Valentino Fall/ Winter 2020-2021

Black, Red, and White are very classic Valentino combinations, and playing with shapes has always been seen in their shows as the head designer has changed throughout the years. But, jewelry isn’t always something the styling team takes major trend risks with. We saw all throughout the show the use of one earring, along with various mis-matched accessories of all sorts. The change added personality and a fun aura.
